Doctor

Borys Pakush , DVM

Dr. Pakush was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio. Being of Ukrainian descent, Dr. Pakush was raised with many special traditions and customs and speaks Ukrainian fairly fluently. He received his Bachelors degree in 1988 and his DVM in 1992, both from The Ohio State University. As a partner of West Park Animal Hospital, Dr. Pakush concentrates on the daily operations of the practice and takes pride in providing excellent service to all of his patients. Dr. Pakush is very proud to announce that he and his wife, Leslie, have two beautiful children named Max and Natalia.

Kane Henderson , DVM

Dr. Henderson was born and raised in Beloit, Ohio. He received his BS from Marietta College in 1992 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1996. He has been a partner of West Park Animal Hospital since 2000. His interest lies in veterinary surgery with a special interest in orthopedics and rehabilitation. Dr. Henderson is married, has two children; Alexys and Brayden, and lives in Medina. He has a black lab, a cat and a guinea pig. In his off time, he enjoys spending time with his family, doing yard work, and enjoying the outdoors.

Kari Swedenborg , DVM

Dr. Swedenborg was born and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio where she attended the University of Akron for her Bachelors degree in Biology. She then attended The Ohio State University and obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She has been a partner at West Park since June of 2006. Her special interests include exotic and pocket pet medicine. She currently resides in Rocky River with her husband, Jack, daughter Marabelle, son Luke and their 6 pets. In her off time, she enjoys spending time with her "little sister" from Big Brothers Big Sisters and going to the lake..

Megan Culler , DVM

Dr. Culler was born and raised in North Olmsted, Ohio. She attended The Ohio State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1996 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in June of 2000. She joined West Park Animal Hospital in June of 2001 and became a partner in October of 2006. Her special interests include ultrasonography and medicine. She currently resides in Olmsted Falls with her husband, Tom, her daughters Claire and Caitlin. She also has a yellow lab named Brumby and 2 cats. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors.

Scott Zielinski , DVM

Dr. Zielinski joined West Park Animal Hospital in 2003. He is a native of northeast Ohio having been born in Cleveland and raised in Copley. He received his bachelors degree from Kent State University in 1996 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2003. He has a special interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. He lives in Solon with his wife, Kathleen (who is an ophthalmologist at University Ophthalmologists Inc.) his son Kelan, daughter Hazel, and a cat named Biscuit. On the odd occasion he has free time he enjoys boating, fishing, and golfing.

Amanda Samson , DVM

Dr. Amanda Samson is originally from Northwest Ohio, having been born in Toledo and raised in Pemberville. She attended Bowling Green State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in 2004. In 2008, she graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. Her special interests are in veterinary ophthalmology and dentistry. Currently, she resides in Lakewood with her lab mix Unsi, beagle Boris, and cat Maurice. She enjoys spending her free time with friends and family, practicing yoga, and traveling.

Adam Schanding , DVM

Dr. Adam Schanding was born and raised in Hamilton, a suburb of Cincinnati, OH. He attended Miami University of Oxford and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 2004. His undergraduate research was in arachnology (the study of spiders and their relatives). He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2008. He has a special interest in emergency veterinary medicine. He lives in Lakewood, OH with his boxer “Luke” and black cat “Roo”. He enjoys playing poker, watching sports, running, playing the guitar, and spending as much time as possible with friends and family

Jonathan Kahn , DVM

Dr. Jonathan Kahn grew up in Richmond Heights on the east side of Cleveland. He currently resides in Lakewood. He attended Miami University for his undergraduate studies and received a Bachelor of Arts in 2002. Dr. Kahn then attended The Ohio State University where he obtained a Master of Science in 2004 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. He has special interests in surgery and emergency medicine. Dr. Kahn enjoys watching Cleveland sports teams, being outdoors, golfing, movies, and spending time with Stephanie, his long time girlfriend, who currently is attending medical school at Northeastern Ohio College of Medicine. His pets include his dog Morgan, cats Duncan and Henry, three turtles and a Western hog nosed snake.

Emergency Doctors

Leyla Guenthner , DVM

Dr. Leyla Guenthner was reared in Southern Wisconsin. She attended the University of Madison – Wisconsin for both undergraduate and veterinary school, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 1995 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Since that time, Dr. Guenthner has focused on emergency veterinary medicine with special interests in anesthesia and pain management, neurology, and feline lower urinary tract disease. She currently resides in Medina with her husband and two dogs. When not working, Dr. Guenthner enjoys hiking, exploring new places, flying, and playing the viola.

Kimberly Parker , DVM

Dr. Parker was born and raised in Bedford, Ohio. She attended Albion College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2000. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2006. Her special interests include emergency veterinary medicine and ultrasonography. She currently resides in Elyria with her three dogs, three cats, and several pocket pets. In her free time she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
